Hat Trick

Kenya politics is taking a twist. Currently, politicians are hopping from one party to another as if it’s legal. It is constitutionally unacceptable to defect from the party that earned you entry to the House. However, Kenyan nationals have chosen to play dumb to such bad politics. It is a double edged sword which will sooner or later prove fatal to both the civilians and politicians. Just the other day, Hon. Mudavadi defected from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The party to which he belonged. The party which saved his face, back when he was the epitome of political mockery even amongst the most irrelevant of political circles.  True to the old say, Kenyans are very forgetful, and Hon.  Mudavadi is no exception. Very quick to forget.
It is funny how he chooses to be blind.  Hon. Mudavadi cannot be president of the republic of Kenya. It will take a drunken nation to vote for a man who has displayed such poor decision making skills. Surely, how do you defect from a party, then sit outside, partyless, waiting to make a decision on which party to join. That is utmost incompetence. The post of the president of the republic of Kenya is not open to chance. We can never elect a president on grounds of benefit of doubt. It is quit obvious that our next president is going to be the current Right Hon. Raila Odinga.
Actually, he has been our president since 2007, that was when he won the elections, as it I s alleged by his staunch supporters.
Another political bulldozer is Hon. William Ruto. Controversy is now his third name. Though as usual, Kenyans are a very forgetful lot. The maize scandal, hate speech, Hague cases, alleged land grabbing, and even alleged arson (the arson of a church during the post election violence skirmishes).  Despite all this, ‘my conscience is clear’ are his words.  Legally, it is one’s guilt that incriminates them. Hon. Ruto is not guilty, so technically, he is no criminal, but when it is all said and done, only he knows the plain truth. All we can do is hope that he will declare it publicly or put it in black and white before he goes to meet his Maker.
For a decade now, Kenya has had the most unique of all heads of state.
Hon. Dr
.  Mwai Kibaki. Never in a hurry to do anything, very ‘co-operative’, always willing to come to a consensus (migingo ni yetu, maji ni ya Uganda. How?) , and like the rest of the Kenyans, who are also responsible for his residence at the state house for a decade, very forgetful. Back in 2002, I was still young and naïve, but one thing that I can recall quite vividly is that our president was involved in a near fatal road accident. He was a presidential aspirant at that time and as usual, much was alleged. H.E the second president of the republic of Kenya Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi was alleged to be behind the incident.  All the same, not all hope was lost, Hon Raila Odinga was quick to act, and he took over the presidential campaign and led Hon. Kibaki to victory against Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, who had the backing of former president. That was just what anyone would think would be enough to make Hon. Kibaki see the magnitude of influence that Hon. Raila wields. Oops! He is a Kenyan, so he did what Kenyans do best, he forgot.
Some time later, our beloved president ‘hired’ an assistant, First lady Lucy Kibaki. She literally run the country as the president was playing golf, or simply sipping coffee t state house gardens.  Controversy quickly caught up with her. Where on earth is she now? We miss her.
Enough for now, but more from my mind is yet to come.
